These pitchers have an earthy organic feel that is so beautiful and timeless. This comes from a technique called Kohiki, where a white slip is layered on the dark clay before firing. This gives the finished glaze a layered color of grey, creamy white, and a pinkish hue called Gohonte.
Perfect for serving milk/cream, gravy, dressings, syrup!
- Long measures approx. 5" L with (plus a 1 1/4" handle) x 2 3/8" W x 1 3/4" H.
- Round measures approx. 5 1/2" L (plus a 1 1/4" handle) x 4 1/2" W x 2 1/2" H.
- Ceramic.
- Made in Japan.
- Suggest to hand wash. Absorbs moisture easily. Therefore, dry well immediately after washing.
Please note: Japanese pottery sometimes has a technique called "crazing," which intentionally adds hairline cracks to the shiny top coat of the glaze. Crazing is not a defect. These do have a small amount crazing.
